March bracket of madness watch: Duke leads to No. 1 seed, but who joined them as Selection Sunday looms?

On a Saturday featuring 14 games at the tournament championship conference, the madness is in us. Here are eight takeaways from a busy Selection Sunday Eve:

1. Duke's win at Florida State for the championship of the ACC Tournament will result in the Blue Devils as a general no. 1 seed at NCAA Tournament. With the strength, the Duke became the best college basketball team this season and the Blue Devils were rewarded.

2. Virginia will also have the No. 1

seed and probably No. 2 overall. The Cavaliers lost to Florida State at the ACC Tournament semifinals on Friday.

3. The Tennessee win against Kentucky opened the door for volunteers to possibly be a No. 1 seed. They play Auburn for the SEC title on Sunday and must win to keep alive the opportunity.

4. North Carolina and Gonzaga can be No. 1 seed. Gonzaga is the only team to beat the Duke while the Blue Devils are full of strength. Tar Heels and Tennessee are victorious in Bulldogs at non-conferences.

5. Michigan and Michigan State will play for the Big Ten championship on Sunday. Both teams must conclude as 2-seed regardless of the result.

6. Washington's late season ended with a loss of blowout in Oregon at the Pac-12 Tournament title game. The Ducks are in the NCAA Tournament now and steal a bid. In my bracket, the stolen bid is owned by UNC Greensboro.

7. The new last four in are Ohio State, TCU, St. John and Arizona State. Washington is a safer place than that group. So two of the last five teams in my bracket are from Pac-12. Huskies fans are likely to spend Sunday wondering if they will go back to the 2012 nightmare, winning Washington's title of the Pac-12 regular season and not getting the NCAA Tournament.

8. The new last four outs are UNC-Greensboro, Creighton, Furman and Belmont. The younger fans of the conference will no longer be happy if this happens.
