Carlos Gomez returns to Mets.
The outfielder knew after his Triple-A Syracuse game on Thursday that Mets chose his contract and joined the Miami team, SNY's Andy Martino said.
It is not yet clear who Gomez is replacing the Mets list, but it is likely that Michael Conforto could be placed on a 7-day IL after he was diagnosed with chaos on Thursday and sent to New York for further analysis.
The Mets can also be assigned Keon Broxton for the assignment. He comes from anemic .143 / .208 / .163 slash line with four walks and 22 strikeouts on 53 appearances on the plate.
Gomez, 33, was signed by Mets in a Spring Legacy Spring league contract and was hit .270 / .329 / .500 with six home runs and 22 RBI in 35 games including Syracuse.
The veteran outfielder came through the Mets farm system and played in 58 games of his rookie season at Mets in 2007 but traded on the Minnesota Twins offseason as part of the deal that landed the Mets Johan Santana .
