The celebratory mood Saturday night in the South by the Southwest festival in Austin, Texas ended in chaos, after a shot erupted at the corners of 6th Street and San Jacinto, according to a witness report from the scene.
"There was a loud pop that I heard. There was a pause of a second or two, and then people started shouting at & # 39; a shot, & # 39; and all started running , "the festival attendant Matthew Carey said on Deadline .
Paramedics responded and at least one person had suffered a gun wound, Carey said. Another person is seen removed from the handcuffs, as shown in the picture above. The arrest came from the super-fast intervention of the Austin Police Department, another source Deadline said. "They are in the guy within a minute," the source mentioned in the police action in the highly patrolled neighborhood.
The Austin Police Department confirmed late Saturday night shooting on social media:
#AustinPD is working on a shooting call at 300 blocks of E. 6th St. One person will be taken to the hospital. Individuals are detained, but are still looking for others who may be involved.

The incident took place near the heart of the festival, in a place considered a nightlife center in Austin with some nightclubs and bars . The police are kept tight around the streets to make sure there are no other active perpetrators, we hear.
While shooting tonight does not actually take place in a SXSW or event area, it's closer to you than the 32-year-old gathering that does not enter the door, so to speak.
The most recent weapon violence follows three other gun-related incidents over the past 24 hours in Texas's capital city that saw five people being hospitalized, sources said. Like the case tonight and in 2016, years ago it sadly saw other shots at SXSW.
SXSW this year was opened on March 8 and is scheduled to end tomorrow.
