Several areas of the country face threat Friday. Parts of West Texas are also at risk for possible tornadoes. Parts of the mid-Atlantic region, including Washington, will see a severe storm around Friday.

On Sunday, storm systems are expected to continue east, targeting Midwest states such as Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.  At this heel system, another potential typhoon event will appear early next week for parts of the southern Plains and Mississippi Valley.
