The former captain of Nashville Predators Mike Fisher, the country music superstar wife Carrie Underwood, is an American citizen official.
Fisher, born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, expressed his citizenship in an Instagram story posted on Thursday
"Big day I am an American official," Fisher captioned a picture of himself holding a small American flag.
Fisher, 38, moved to the United States after Married Underwood in 2010.
He had previously played for the Ottawa Senators, as well as some small Canadian league teams, before joining Predators in the 201
Fisher died at the end of the eight NHL seasons in Nashville before retiring in 2018.
The sixth captain of the Predators in 2016 and the first retired in the team.
Fisher and Underwood had a very happy person in 2019.
The couple accepted their second child, Jacob, in January.
Fisher and Underwood also became a 4-year-old son named Isaiah.
Fisher also announced that he had finished his long-term dreams of buying a horse in a post on Instagram on Wednesday.
"Since childhood, I always wanted horses, now I got my first! The Bojangles were finally home! He would have a dancing partner for a few days," wrote Fisher.
